Current decision: the AI scanner is disabled in the first public release. Current Google terms contain age, regional, and use-model restrictions that cannot be solved by a single age checkbox.
Future in-app wording
AI scanner: 18+ and Google data processing
The AI scanner is an optional third-party function. Selected images or text will be sent directly to Google Gemini API. ShuvLu Studio does not control Google's processing, model availability, quotas, pricing, or access decisions.
Privacy Policy · Terms of Use · current Google terms and privacy policy must be linked separately in the app.
Enable AI scannerImplementation requirements
- two separate mandatory unchecked boxes;
- disabled button until both are confirmed;
- store the disclosure version and confirmation timestamp locally;
- request confirmation again after material changes;
- allow disabling the feature and deleting the local API key;
- exclude the key from Android backup;
- do not transmit a receipt before a separate Scan action;
- show a review screen before saving recognised data.
Wording to avoid
Do not use blanket wording such as “I waive all claims” or “the developer has no responsibility.” Such clauses may be unfair and do not remove mandatory legal obligations.
